book

'the english museum is falling down' prima carte de david lodge citita. terminata acum doua zile, amuzanta pe tot parcursul ei, tot stream of conciousness-ul de final apartinand sotiei, mi-a amintit-fara sa-mi aminteasca precis- de finalul lui ulysses(joyce).*

perhaps we will be happy i said of course we will he said we'll have a nanny to look after the children perhaps we will i said by the way how many children are we going to have as many as you like he said it'll be wonderful you'll see perhaps it will be wonderful perhaps even though it won't be like you think perhaps that won't matter perhaps.

later edit: de altfel mai multe lucruri semanau, intr-atat incat mi-am zis ca au mai vazut si altii asemanarile..la un search rapid intru confirmare, raspunsul a venit prompt:

This use of different styles mirrors James Joyce's Ulysses, a work also about a single day. When Lodge's novel first came out, quite a number of reviewers and critics, not appreciating the literary allusions, found fault with Lodge for his inhomogeneous writing.
